A river can be a hand crews solution to Watchout Situation #8 (constructing line without safe anchor point).  However, there are many things that can flank a crew besides fire.

It’s been my experience since living in Yellowstone National Park that mature bison are not intimidated by the human species.  More often that not, they stand their ground and will charge if you come too close.  Many people think they’re just lumbering oxes but they can quickly reach speeds of 35 mph; each year Yellowstone deals with injured tourists that get too close.

In my painting Anchor Point Gone Wild, I’ve added one more thing to the firefighters plate - there’s one firefighter that has just become aware of the impending problem.
